I don't remember for sure but there may have something that started at boot that checked for HP updates. I should have been suspicious in how they promoted HP Smart and relegated the traditionally way as only for professionals.įor a while after I uninstalled and deleted HP Smart I kept getting reminders to download it. Half way through I deleted the program and went back to doing it the old way. I became frustrated in how dumb down the process had become. Some time last year in a moment of weakness I downloaded and installed HP Smart. I had been content to just do it the old fashion way of manually installing the drivers for my printer. After the latest update, the usual reinstall did not work, and I now cant print. I had been reluctant to download and install HP Smart ever since it came out. Since Windows 10 came out, at every major Windows update, I have had to uninstall the printer and reinstall it.
